Celebrating Lies

Both heads of the Demopublican beast have donned a face and we are now ensconced in the season of lies. The 'issues' will be discussed and broadcast media will carry a constant stream of less than true finger pointing. Many people will be voting for the first time. The vast majority of them will be genuinely surprised at the number of choices they have when it comes to voting for President. With the numerous 24 hour a day news outlets and regular morning, noon, evening and nighttime network news broadcasts, there may be some mention of the Libertarian or Green party candidates. But, one would never guess that there would be a candidate for:

The Boston Tea Party / Personal Choice Party:

The Constitution Party:

The Independent / America's Independent Party:

The Independent / Indepentent-Ecology / Peace & Freedom Party:

The Party of Socialism & Liberation:

The Prohibition Party:

The Reform Party:

The Socialist Party:

or

The Socialist Workers Party:

Why? Because if the people knew that they had real choices, neither of the two major partys would get a clear majority the first time around and they might both loose when the final tally comes in.

The fourth estate is duty bound to inform the people. It is only with correct and accurate information that our Republic will thrive and survive. Yet, for reasons unknown to me, the welfare of these United States takes a back seat to the inglorious promotion of deciet and misdirection. Believe it or not, they actually pat themselves on the back and hand out awards for sucessfully diseminating misinformation.

I would think that "...allow the people to participate in free and fair elections. Whatever happens let it be" should be a sentiment that is central to the operation of a representative democratic republic. Rest assured that, when the season of lies comes to an end, the majority of Americans will vote for something they don't want and the truth will still be hard to find.
